Between commutes, school drop-offs and pick-ups, carpools, games, and road trips, we all spend a lot of time in our cars. Some days, it really feels like I spend half my day in mine! I am frequently asked what kind of car I drive and I am happy to share that with you today along with some of the reasons we selected and love my car.
I have a Mercedes GLS 450 from Mercedes-Benz of Omaha. Having a full service dealership in Omaha is so helpful – I previously shared how I appreciate the dealership here. This is my second GLS and I love this vehicle for a family car! I am currently eyeing the new 2020 GLS 450s. We switched to the GLS (from a smaller SUV) when we were pregnant with our third child. After trying many luxury SUVs, we kept coming back to the GLS. It fit all of our needs for function, comfort, and style.
We knew we would need the option of a third row for carpools and space, but also needed to fit 3 car seats in the car in the beginning. You are able to fit 3 car seats across the second row! As the kids have grown, and the number of car seats decreased, how we use our car has also changed. The GLS has a full-size third row, so the older kids easily and comfortably fit. The push-button, automatic-folding second row seat, makes accessing the third row super easy for the kids. Being able to fit 5 kids in the back seat (and still have some trunk room) is a weekly need!
Not only does my car need to function for the kids, it also needs to be comfortable for me. As I mentioned, some days I spend so much time in my car, I feel like a chauffer! Having luxuries like heated & cooled seats, heated steering wheel, and a panoramic roof make being in the car for long periods feel more enjoyable. I also love how comfortable the GLS is to drive. I prefer the feel of car/crossover SUV to a truck-like SUV and the GLS fits this feel. I am also dependent on the surround view cameras when backing up and parking – one of my favorite features.
Mercedes-Benz of Omaha has helped us select and care for both of our GLS 450s and is currently helping us decide on the new 2020 GLS. Being able to take the vehicles home for a test drive has been key in knowing if they are going to work with car seats, carpools, and daily life. We spend so much time in our cars, it is important to select one that fits your needs. Let me know if you have any additional questions and tune into my stories where I will give a full tour of the car.
