Packing for our vacation over here and sharing some my vacation essentials. Whether a beach vacation or ski trip, these items are always in my suitcase.
Kindle – I love to read, especially on vacation. I will usually make it through several books on a vacation, so rather than lug around big books (who has the extra weight for them in their suitcase?!), I bring my small kindle. It is backlight, so it is easy to read in the sunlight. I have the Kindle Oasis – I like that it is waterproof, has a very crisp screen, and built in wifi. The Kindle Paperweight is also a great option. I also recommend this cover for travel! am over due for a book club post and promise to share some of my favorite recent reads soon.
Suitcase scale – this is a lifesaver! No more shifting items from one suitcase to another at the check in desk. You can easily weigh your suitcase at home, and even better, you can weigh it before your return trip!
Makeup Travel Case – with all of it’s little compartments, this travel makeup bag is my favorite. I hate digging around in makeup bags, and this keeps all of my little items in place. The compartments are adjustable and there is are pockets designed for brushes and sticks. Plus, it is only $19. This is a must buy!
Hotel slippers – I get easily grossed out walking around hotel floors and have a pair of slippers dedicated to hotel rooms – they stay in my suitcase! I like these because they are lightweight and don’t take up much room.
Travel wallet – My regular wallet is full of punch cards, membership cards, store cards – read all things I do not need on vacation. I pair down to a small travel wallet that I can keep the essentials in. Plus many of my vacation purses are too small to fit my big wallet! This cute one is on sale!
Insert cubes – I recently started using these and they are a game changer for packing and unpacking!! I can divide up things like underwear, swimsuits, loungewear, etc – simply pull these out to unpack at hotel, and repack with these. They are designed to fit into your luggage and keep things organized! I have the Calpak set – but there are less expensive alternatives like these!
