Hope everyone is having a fun Halloween Week!! Our week is filled with Halloween parties and big plans for trick-or-treating on Saturday. Hudson had his preschool Halloween party on Tuesday and I was in charge of the craft. I needed an easy craft since that 3 & 4 year olds would not only be able to do, but also find fun. These paper plate spiders were a hit! And they were very easy to prepare. The nice thing about this craft is you can make them easier or harder depending on your age group. Steps are listed below if needed!
What you will need:
Black 6″ (or smaller) paper plates
Pipe cleaners (cut in half)
Paper hole punch
Embellishments if desired (I used stick on bows)
1. Punch 8 holes (1 for each spider leg) on sides of plate. I punched these prior to the party. If your age group is a little older, you can have them punch the holes in the plates.
2. Thread pipe cleaners through the holes. Bend the pipe cleaner on the back side to hold in place. Shape legs as desired.
3. Glue on eyes.
4. Add embellishments. I used stick on bows for girl spiders (hair bows) and boy spiders (bow ties). Sparkle puff paint, small stickers, or colored pom balls are other ideas to give the spiders more flare.
